Task: Help
to maintain the backyards of people in the community who are struggling to
manage their own gardens, due to frailty, old age, sickness or disability.
Groundz Keeping students were getting ready to head off site
to help out their local community. Although we didn’t get to see them at work,
we interviewed two students who were participating in this activity and they told
us they helped with gardening around the local community.
The students are very excited to be helping
out and the two boys we interviewed said that it is a great experience. The students help out by gardening and fixing
things. Harry said he really enjoyed lifting picnic tables and was very happy
with his choice of activity for the Service Days.
