Task:
Create beaded jewellery for Pathway’s Women’s Crisis
Centre and medium-term housing as a gift for women who have experienced some
difficult periods in their life and who will be blessed by the kindness and
generosity shown through receiving a gift from people they have never met.
On a quest, with
Pathways Community Outreach, to help better the lives of women in crisis, thirteen Year
Seven to Nine students with the assistance of Mrs. Egan are making lovely
beaded jewellery. Mrs. Egan says “It’s
worthwhile seeing how people are learning to do things for others.”

These beautiful pieces of
jewellery are being sent to women in crisis, in particular those affected by
domestic violence. The aim is to brighten up the lives of these women and to
give them some hope that their world will get better and let them know that
there are people who care for them greatly. Bling Bling has no specific number
of jewellery items in mind but they hope to make as many pieces of jewellery as
they possibly can over three school days. Their real goal is to do something
special for these women in crisis.
